I’m swallowing words like they’re painkillers, and yet there’s still an ache lodged deep within me that I cannot quite excavate.

"A child free from the guilt of ownership and the burden of economic competition will grow up with the will to do what needs doing and the capacity for joy in doing it. It is useless work that darkens the heart. The delight of the nursing mother, of the scholar, of the successful hunter, of the good cook, of the skillful maker, of anyone doing needed work and doing it well—this durable joy is perhaps the deepest source of human affection, and of sociality as a whole."

Tiny house built by Heirloom Custom Tiny Homes in Oregon. See more here!

The life

When my dad was sick with brain cancer he couldn’t work. So instead he threw himself into finding things on his computer that would be useful to those he cared about. He sent out many tiny home articles to his kids, especially for my newly married sister living in a tiny home, to help up figure out how to structure our space well enough to feel it could hold us and our lives comfortably. I just wanted to share that here. Its been a year and three months. I still miss him, I will always miss him, but I look at the positive things he did and it helps.
